Deposits
There are several ways to make a deposit to your Manulife Bank account:
  • Deposit at any Canadian deposit-taking ABM displaying THE EXCHANGE1 symbol.
  • Send us a cheque, payable to the account holder. Remember to record the Manulife Bank account number on the back of the cheque. Funds must be in Canadian dollars.
  • Transfer funds from your account at another financial institution to your Manulife Bank account.
  • Have your income deposited directly to your Manulife Bank account. The organization making the payment to you will assist you with the arrangements.
  • Make a deposit at your local Royal Bank branch.
When making Canadian fund deposits, a hold of up to five business days may occur before the funds can be accessed from your account.

Withdrawals
You have several options for accessing the money in your account, including:
  • Withdraw cash at any ABM using your Access Card (daily withdrawal limit applies).
  • Make direct payment (debit) purchases at retailers with your Access Card (daily withdrawal limit applies).
  • Write a cheque.
  • Set up pre-authorized bill payments for regular bills like your mortgage, insurance or utility payments. Contact the payee to make the arrangements.
  • Pay bills with Internet and telephone banking.
  • Transfer funds from your Manulife Bank account to your account at another financial institution.

Interest payments
    Bank accounts
    Interest is calculated on the daily closing balance and paid monthly to your account.

    Lines of credit
    Interest is calculated on the daily closing balance and charged monthly. Monthly payments can be automatically deducted from your selected bank account.

Security and confidentiality
You will be asked to choose a password that you will need to provide each time you use Internet and telephone banking services. This should be kept private.   • By using your Manulife Bank Access Card in ABMs displaying THE EXCHANGE logo in Canada, you can avoid paying the convenience fee charged by many financial institutions.

Depending on your transaction, processing times vary. Allow sufficient time for your bill payments to be processed to your billing company and funds transfers to clear your account at your other financial institution.
